The Centre is located at Grose Vale, a semi-rural suburb that skirts the Blue Mountains National Park on two sides. It lies amidst beautiful mountain bushland and open paddocks between Kurrajong and North Richmond, just over an hour's drive north-west of Sydney's CBD.
The Centre is approximately 70 mins from Sydney's CBD, 50 mins from Parramatta CBD and 1hr 30 mins from Wollongong CBD.
The BXVI Retreat Centre is very easy to find:
- Take any M road (M5, M4 or M2) until you reach the M7 motorway.
- Take the M7 exit at Richmond Road and follow the signs to North Richmond.
- After travelling 22 kilometres on Richmond Road and through North Richmond, you will come to the Grose Vale Road turnoff on your left, just after the shopping centre.
- Turn left into Grose Vale Road and follow this road for 6 kilometres, turning left again at Grose Wold Road.
Once on Grose Wold Road, you will see the BXVI Retreat Centre is clearly signposted on your right, a few hundred metres from the turn off. Look out for the obelisk.
By rail and bus
The nearest train station to the Centre is Richmond, which is on the T1 North Shore, Northern and Western Line (see http://www.sydneytrains.info/stations/pdf/suburban_map.pdf for network map). Trains (all stops) take approximately 90 minutes from the City to Richmond. It is approximately 10 kms from Richmond station to the Centre, guests will need to arrange their own transport.
'Westbus' route 680 travels along Grose Vale Road from East Market Street, opposite Richmond Station, Richmond but there is a walk at the end, check with Westbus for details.
